orange pi 5 plus - UEFI boot the install USB?

I have the EDK2 UEFI firmware installed on my orangepi5 plus board and I have no been able to get archlinuxarm to boot off of it no matter what I try. I can get as far as text over top of the EDK2 logo on the screen and the EFI stub text laid ofer it saying its passed to the kernel, but it just refuses to go any further. other distros work on this thing but for my next project I'd really like to stik with arch linux and alarm is the only thing I cannot manage to boot on this thing.

Has anyone pulled this off?
