Arch Linux ARM Install ISO

Postby SwiftyScreams » Wed May 12, 2021 11:37 pm

Hey there, I am going to be experimenting with an Arch Linux ARMv8 Bootable iso for Parallels for M1 Macs. Would anyone be interested in the Image? Ill post it on GitHub along with the Image sources.

This image should also support the usage of any generic armv8 device that uses uefi to boot.

I'm also creating a version of archiso script (with an aarch64 config) to autogenerate a version of Arch Linux ARM UEFI boot ISO. So far the script fully works, and makes a bootable ISO that I tested, and it does make a nice fresh install of Arch Linux ARM!!

If the community would like this in their repos, please let me know :)

I'd be very interested in such a thing. I just received an M1-based Mac mini a week ago, and want to have an Arch install running in a VM. May end up being a replacement for my desktop Arch install, I haven't decided yet. Regardless, I look forward to playing with Arch on it. I have previously worked with Arm64 versions of Arch on ODROID boards and one of the Boundary Devices boards (I don't remember which).

Well here is the GitHub, the source is in the Arch-Linux-ARM branch,

There should also be a release available with a working ISO I made.
