RPI 3B fails with 7 blinks on green while booting

My Raspberry Pi 3B stopped booting after updating my system this morning. When HDMI is plugged into a monitor, the boot sequence hangs at the color graph that just lets you know the Pi is on. After backing up the SD card's contents and wiping everything with a fresh install, the same thing happened again after a pacman update. I'm suspecting raspberrypi-bootloader-20230310-1 might be the culprit as ALARM does successfully boot from the installation image, but never gets past the color graph after the update.

Version used: ArchLinuxARM-rpi-aarch64-latest.tar.gz

raspberrypi-bootloader-20230310-1 is the problem. There is a workaround:

Edit config.txt.

Put in section [all] the line

arm_64bit=1

and everything is working again.

Thanks, df8oe. I was just going to post to confirm that I got things working after adding the suspect package to IgnorePkg in /etc/pacman.conf and "pushing the car up the hill yet again" but you beat me to the punch.

Will now try to restore my backup and apply the change.

There was no [all] section in my config.txt, so I just hazarded a guess and this works:

arm_64bit=1')

(The uart line was already there. Just added the arm_64bit line right below it.)
