Anyone else trying to get one of these working? I have one booting off of a Kernel built against this patchset:

Running into issues with detecting the nvme SSD now.

Answered the same in one reddit topic (probably it was you), but since today there's 6.11.0 available in opensuse tumbleweed. Maybe worth trying just in case there's anything different in the kernel, and you can report it to the guys at arch, so that we're making progress, no matter which GNU/Linux distro it is.
I believe there're still some missing drivers to be included with 6.12, if that's the case we can at least think we're only around 1,5-2 months away... Looking forward to hearing any feedback, I would like to get this laptop but not without a working Linux kernel.

Do you mind sharing the methods of booting the kernel in the first place?

I've cross-compiled 6.12-rc1 with arm64 defconfig (also an all yes config) and tried booting it with the T14s dtb as dtb= argument and using the grub efi stub with the "devicetree" option but in both cases the screen goes black and the laptop reboots, no error or something on the screen. Secure boot is disabled.

For some reason I can't get any output past GRUB, some info would be appreciated!

The last tumbleweed iso had backported the 6.12 patches needed for this T14s laptop into 6.11.2, so it should boot without cooking any custom kernel. If anyone wants to test it, even if from a live iso, feedback would be appreciated.

Guys,
sorry to bother. I stumbled into this as I'm about to get a ThinkBook 16 Gen7 with a Snapdragon X plus equipped processor.
So as far as I understand there's no working alarm distribution to date, correct?
Does anybody please know whether the alarm Team is working on this so that we can expect a working kernel?

tnx

No bother at all! Currently, there isn't a fully functional Arch Linux ARM (alarm) distribution for Snapdragon-equipped devices like the ThinkPad T14s Gen6 or ThinkBook 16 Gen7. While the alarm team and Linux kernel developers are making progress on ARM support, full compatibility with Snapdragon processors (including SSD, GPU, and other hardware) is still a work in progress. Keep an eye on kernel updates, as future releases may improve support.

It looks like Ubuntu 24.10's image boots on the ThinkPad T14S gen6 and, with a device tree update, boots on the Asus Vivobook S15, too. Battery guage is working on both with some effort (requires firmware blob). I don't think USB-A ports work on either, nor does displayport alt-mode.
