Amlogic S905 - bluetoothctl no default controller detected

Postby ajiratech » Sun Jul 08, 2018 10:54 pm

I have a Chinese TV box that is setup to run Arch linux - It is powered by Amlogic S905 quad core with Mali 450 GPU (similar to Odroid C2) . For the most part it works reasonably well - Gigabit ethernet, USB, HDMI etc all work.
It has a Realtek chip RTD8723 with wifi and bluetooth. I have not tried wifi but would like bluetooth to work primarily for audio. But I can't get it to work. Here is the output of some of the commands I've tried.

Code: Select all

$ dmesg | grep Bluetooth
[   17.475504] Bluetooth: Core ver 2.18
[   17.475553] Bluetooth: HCI device and connection manager initialized
[   17.475583] Bluetooth: HCI socket layer initialized
[   17.475591] Bluetooth: L2CAP socket layer initialized
[   17.475618] Bluetooth: SCO socket layer initialized
[   17.495327] Bluetooth: RFCOMM TTY layer initialized
[   17.495365] Bluetooth: RFCOMM socket layer initialized
[   17.495384] Bluetooth: RFCOMM ver 1.11

[   85.294415] Bluetooth: BNEP filters: protocol multicast
[   85.294464] Bluetooth: BNEP socket layer initialized

$ sudo systemctl status bluetooth

$ hciconfig
-bash: hciconfig: command not found

$ sudo bluetoothctl

Please advice what do I need to do to get this to work. Also, does the output provided suggest that I have the device drivers loaded for wifi and bluetooth ?

Thanks in advance.
