Kernel module w1-gpio for Raspberry PI 3 missing

I'm running 4.18.12-1-ARCH aarch64 on a Raspberry 3B, flawlessly so far. The only thing that seems to be missing is the w1-gpio (and w1-therm) kernel module. It's just not in /lib/modules/...
This has been the case for all 4.18 kernels, nothing new.
Is this just a "glitch" in the kernel config that can be fixed by enabling these modules, or are there technical reasons?
