ili9341 tft on RPi4 aarch64

Postby dimbulb » Sat Apr 03, 2021 5:41 am

I'd very much like to use a tft module as a display on my RPi 4: http://www.lcdwiki.com/2.8inch_SPI_Module_ILI9341_SKU:MSP2807

I've been looking around for several days and I'm afraid to say that my google skills failed me. I'm using the aarch64 build with the stock kernel and uboot and I'd very much like to keep doing that if possible. However, I haven't been able to find instructions on how to do that, or even anything that gets me close.

Is anyone doing this, or does anyone know how this is best done? If it's trivial, could I get a pointer to the best place to read up on it?

Thanks!

As far as I can tell, the needed kernel module is supplied by linux-aarch64: https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUIL ... nfig#L7910

There is another that isn't getting built for DRM but it's unclear to me if that is needed or not: https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUIL ... nfig#L6165

Beyond that, are you asking for a step-by-step guide? I cannot help with that beyond suggesting google which you mentioned you tried. Search terms: ILI9341 raspberry pi guide

https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/view ... p?t=157618
https://www.instructables.com/Rasberry- ... T-ili9341/

If neither are what you want try searching/posting on rpi forums for more coverage.
