ArchLinux not booting on Acer Spin 311 [CP311-3H-K5GD]

Hi,
Firstly i want to say that a very similar topic exists in this forum but it is locked and i couldnt post in it. Admin please tell me and guide me if this is the wrong forum for this topic. I have followed the instructions from https://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv8/mediatek/acer-chromebook-r13 but i get a blank screen on booting from the usb. The following shows the differences between the Acer R13 and the Acer Spin 311(my model).

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
Acer R13 Acer Spin 311

SoC MT8173C MT8183C

CPU Cortex-A72, Cortex-A53 Cortex-A73, Cortex-A53
Quad-core Octa-core
2x ARM Cortex-A53 @ 1.5 GHz 4x ARM Cortex-A53 @ 1.6 GHz
2x ARM Cortex-A72 @ 2.1 GHz 4x ARM Cortex-A73 @ 2.0 GHz

GPU Imagination PowerVR GX6250 ARM Mali-G72 MP3

Screen 13.3 inches 11.6 inches
1920 x 1080 1366 x 768
')
I think the problem has something to do with the GPU and/or the resolution. The above information is taken from the internet, if someone can tell me the terminal command to check CPU/GPU info, i will do it and post later. The generic arm64 package from https://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv8/generic gives the following error on step 11 $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'd: failed to open 'root/boot/vmlinux.kpart': No such file or directory') Can experts please tell me what is needed to run arch on my chromebook? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. I would also like information on how to completely remove chrome os and install Arch instead(maybe by using clozezilla).

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hey!

I got the same Model last Week, so i was huge disappointed that i ran in a blackscreen when i tried to boot any linux kernel.

So for today i had hope this fix in 5.16 will solve this Problem:

https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ke ... &id2=v5.15

as i understood it, the DSI (Displaycontroller between eDP and the Mali G-72 GPU) will not start because the DSI was already initalized by the Google bootloader for ChromeOS, so a reset is important.

So additional more mt8183, G72 and "new chromebook" fixes get in 5.16, so i hope this will be amazing!

when https://archlinuxarm.org/packages/aarch ... aarch64-rc has the release candicate 5.16-*, you download this package and all the splitpackages, mount the root of the Arch Installation in Chrome OS, manually copy the files in. the last step is to put the vmlinuz.kpart of this package with dd if=vmlinuz.kpart of=/dev/yourdevice1.

yesterday i manually compile the linux-next branch but i failed by generate the vmlinuz.kpart image under google-debian vm container. sad.
