xorg-server & xf86-video-fbturbo-odroid-c2-git conflict

Postby risto3 » Mon Nov 15, 2021 7:20 am

Since a couple days I'm not able to update our odroid-c2s running mainline (5.15.1-1-ARCH), getting the following:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'e')rror: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)
:: xorg-server and xf86-video-fbturbo-odroid-c2-git are in conflict (X-ABI-VIDEODRV_VERSION>=25)

Are there any usable alternate drivers available?

Yes, it looks indeed related.
Unfortunately, AFAIK, odroid-c2s do need the mali driver so the orientation is heading upstream without a paddle.

(BTW, guess I'm really tired, already posted viewtopic.php?f=15&t=15654 so I'll try to delete it)

Also, curious as to why search on 'X-ABI-VIDEODRV_VERSION' comes up with no hits?

Which package should I use instead of xf86-video-fbturbo-odroid-c2-git?
I have tried xf86-video-fbdev, but it doesn't work :shock: , or downgrade xorg related packages, stick to old version Xorg?

Hmm, not being versant in wayland, I'm curious to know your installation/configuration steps for this replacement,
and more importantly, how do the apps work under wayland... we have crucial gtk3 apps that need to run for our
accounting system... have you tried the gtk wayland back-end?
