Fresh Rock64 installation stuck on "Starting kernel ..."

Postby f4st » Sat Apr 23, 2022 9:52 pm

Hello,

I have a Rock64 (version 2, I believe) and I wanted to put Arch on it. I followed the guide that's here, but the device refuses to boot. All I get over the serial is this:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '

')

And nothing happens after that.

I looked around and found a few other threads that might be relevant to this:

  • This one seems to be basically the same issue, though there are no replies.
  • This one seems to suggest that it might be an issue with newer versions of the kernel. Any way I can get an older version of the root filesystem with an older kernel?

I used to run Arch on this board some time ago, so the board is probably fine.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!
