[SOLVED] wifi-menu not working

Postby KenDickey » Fri Aug 18, 2023 9:37 pm

Greetings,
My Samsung Chromebook Plus (aarch64) fell off support and I thought to install ArchLinuxArm.
Instructions good at
'https://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv8/rockchip/samsung-chromebook-plus'
until "wifi-menu", which reports "Invalid interface specification".
"wifi-menu wlan0" reports "No such interface: wlan0"

Will some kind soul help me get wlan0 set up?

[I created /etc/netctrl/interface/wireless-wpa, but no help]

Thanks much!

More info.
ifconfig fails to find wlan0, so it appears that the wifi driver for Chromebook Plus is missing.
Anyone know what driver is required; where to get and put it?

Following instructions from
'http://www.makikiweb.com/ipv6/manjaro_on_arm_chromebook.html'
I downloaded drivers from
'https://archlinuxarm.org/packages/any/linux-firmware-marvell'
unpacked in /tmp, then copied /tmp/user/lib/firmware into /lib/firmware, rebooted, and had wifi.

HTH,
