When we can get a newer kernel working for these plugs, trust us.. you'll know. Work is in progress.

No worries mate, just wanted to throw another datapoint in the mix. Fortunately there is a workaround for now, at least on my plug.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('WarheadsSE', 'W')hat I have noticed at this point:
udev tends to end up as pid 361 every time I boot.

kill -15 361
udevd &

For fear of updates changing boot sequence I've added this to my rc.local
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'kill $(pidof udevd)
udevd &')

For those still having an issue with udevd.

Guys,

I've just installed ALARM on my Pogoplug Pro. I'm seeing this problem. Was it fixed and I need to update, or do we need to use this work around still?

Thanks!

Install udev-oxnas to replace udev, as has been said in many places.

FYI. Even after I've installed udev-oxnas and rebooted, I still had this problem with udev taking 100% CPU. So I had to implement the work around as slycat mentioned above.

Still??? Have you done
pacman -Scc
pacman -Syyuu
pacman -S udev-oxnas
reboot

Maybe some libs need to be updated as well?
Effin' weird. :shock:

Be sure that during the udev-oxnas install that it removes the original udev (at least that's what I remember happening when I had went from udev -> udev-oxnas).

@slycat,

Thanks for the pointer for an Arch Linux noob that I am :-) I did pacman clean, refresh, and upgrade as you've recommended, installed udev-oxnas, and rebooted. udev now works correctly, no more 100% CPU. The upgrade command pacman -Syyuu caused a massive amount of package upgrades :lol: and old udev was removed when udev-oxnas was installed.
