Hi,

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this:

New optional dependencies for pacman
curl: for rankmirrors usage
fakeroot: for makepkg usage as normal user

Ok, small update.

Seems the issue is that even as root I can't write to /usr/lib and /usr/bin

currently set to 755 on both (i've not altered them)

Can't unpack the new pacman zip to / because of it.

Something has gone incredibly wrong with your install. I would suggest doing a fresh re-extract of the rootfs, and if you're using a flash drive find another one to use. Or better yet use a hard drive.

I had this happen once at a time when I had just reinstalled. Naturally, I just reinstalled over again rather than try to fix it.
