Postby corrobor » Thu Feb 10, 2022 8:44 pm

Hi to all.
Why when i upgrade system by doing pacman -Syu, when pacman upgrade the kernel inticpios, is the image rebuild two times? one time for "linux-aarch64" and second time for "linux".
It is normal or do I have an issue? thanks

Why do you have two kernels installed?? As an aside, if you do not require the image (most RPi users do not), you can install raspberrypi-stop-initramfs to stop their creation entirely.

This also happens with linux-rpi. For example when both systemd and systemd-libs are updated (or reinstalled)

It's a bug. It doesn't happen on Arch Linux.

It Is a bug so should we wait for a fix or Is It a bug in my system?

I'm not sure if Arch Linux ARM has a official bug tracker other than this forum.
It's not a bug on your system as I can easily duplicate the issue on mine as well.

Known, but no solution yet:

Mkinitcpio always runs twice when updating system https://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=15511
