[RESOLVED] Cannot make capt package

Postby iganin » Tue Nov 01, 2011 7:06 pm

Dear all,

I'm trying to make a package from AUR capt 2.30-1 .
It is a driver for Canon printers.
And I am receiving the following error.

[root@NAS capt]# makepkg --asroot -Acs

.
Do you have any ideas how I can solve this issue.

I am going to make a guess here, Igor

No actual compiling occured, so
"Stripping unneeded symbols from binaries and libraries"
they must be precompiled x86 binaries, not arm.
A fail for Canon.

Hello Pepedog,

Thank you for your fast response.
Unfortunately i am newbie in Linux.
I don't understand you answer clearly.
Would I be right in thinking that I cannot install this driver at all?

Spot on iganin, without the vendor supplying ARM binaries, or source that can be compiled to ARM binaries, you're SOL. Just like me and my Brother HL-2270DW
