Re: [DEV] New kernel 2.6.37 in testing

Hi,

i have a sheevaplug sata version and Arch Linux ARM 2011.02 (latest) installed.
In the new kernel 2.6.37 i'm missing the module sata_mv for a working eSATA connector.

When i set arcNumer to 2678 (eSATA sheevaplug) the boot process hangs while it try's to load sata_mv.
Actualy i set arcNumber to standard sheevaplug, so no SATA will be loaded but it's bootable.

Any suggestions?

sata_mv is built into the kernel now, it's not a module.

The attached version of the kernel26 LEDs.patch allows the sheevaplug to control 3 leds (red, green & blue).

Good job figuring out the pin for that. I'll get it worked into 2.6.38 when that drops out of testing from Arch.

I looked at the document Sheeva-PowerPlug-V1.3-GTI-090906.pdf and saw some confused info about leds on page 10. Other document versions seem to be different. By direct inspection I can see all 4 leds. There is another green one marked as connected to MPP45, but the diagram also indicates a direct earth connection via a 330ohm resistor (same value as marked for the MPP connection) so that appears to be always on and my attempst to control it didn't work.

I haven't acess to a sheeva sata so don't know if that also has these leds so I didn't mess with the sata version mpp setup.

Apparently the patch I sent previously will break eSata sheevas because the pins aren't being set properly for that architecture. Sean Young says he needs to add in stuff to sheeva_esata_mpp_config as well to make this work. I will make a new patch later tonight if anyone's interested.

The attached version of LEDs.patch works for me and the sheeva bit has been tested on a sheeva eSata to give 3 controllable leds.

Late response on this, but I'll be adding the code in the patch for the sheeva into 2.6.38.6 coming out within the next day. Nice work on getting a patch to fix the issue.

Added an issue to Github as Pogoplug V2 LED is toast now.

The v2 needs its own kernel init code, and I have a massive list of other things to do. If someone wants to write a patch, I'll integrate it into the kernel.
