Hi all -
I don't know if anybody here's messed with Docker - it's a pretty neat and easy way to create Linux Containers.
I wanted to setup a distcc cross-compiler, and figured if I made a container for it I could make my life easier - once I have it running on one machine, I can just copy the container out to others and not worry about what specific distribution of linux they're using or anything.
I have the Docker image up here, targeting the Raspberry Pi - https://index.docker.io/u/jprjr/distcc-rpi/ - the scripts used to build the container are over here https://github.com/jprjr/docker-misc/tr ... distcc-rpi
I haven't hard time to actually sit down and put it through the ringer, I just wanted to see if this was something people were interested in. I know there's the precompiled toolchain in the wiki, but I'm a fan of Dockerizing network apps. Like I said - I could fire up a box running Debian, Ubuntu, Gentoo, whatever and have this distcc container running in just a few minutes, with all boxes using the exact same version of distcc+gcc.
