New Arch Linux ARM Archive

Postby radeksalomon » Sun Nov 14, 2021 4:45 pm

Hi all.

We need somehow solve our development issue with rolling release :-), so we made our own Arch Linux ARM Archive couple days ago. We will keep it public, so if you need it, enjoy it.

Originally we learned about in on Arch Linux Wiki – https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Arch_Linux_Archive, but we were missing the version for ARM.

You can find it on http://alaa.ad24.cz. (alaa = arch linux arm archive)

Cheers.

Thank you for making this available.
Are you aware there is also an archive at http://tardis.tiny-vps.com/aarm/ with more history? Sometimes this is off-line so a mirror of this would be really helpful.

Yes, I know about this one. We made our own when tardis was offline for couple days and we were not sure it comes back. We need to be sure, the server is up and running all the time :-).
We should sync also his history, but I am not sure it is necessary. If there is some good reason, we can do it. For us we need the repos to be available from November.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '.').. we were not sure it comes back. We need to be sure, the server is up and running all the time

This is it. That is the number one thing to have in the first-aid box, when you're running a rolling release distro. Even more so with embedded devices. And even so for hobby ArchArm users.

Just a big thank yout to radeksalomon and his team for providing this. Much appreciated.

This should get much more publicity, be posted in a prominent place. It's a recurring thing seing forum users being instructed to downgrade and not having a clue that this even exists.

We also forked the original archivetools repo and published it with changes for ARM. Everybody can build their own ARM archive, if needed. Easy to fix it for ARM. :-)

alaa.ad24.cz seems down and tardis.tiny-vps.com/aarm stops on Januray 8th.
Is there something more around (maybe even a temporary last package mirror of the ArchlinuxARM team itself)?
