This has happened before and I've heard it's usually because there's a big python update. I don't know if that's the case this time or not. I do know that every time this happens there's no communication about it even when the maintainers know that a lapse in updates is coming. I wish they would just say something for a change. It might make it easier to gauge whether there's a problem or if the lapse is expected.
