My Project: Digital Signage with archlinux|ARM and Raspberry

Hi all,

I am new to this forum. I want to share a project with you that I created based on archlinux|ARM. It is a Digital Signage Player and/or Server. I created it because one of my friends owns a Cafe and needed a cheap Digital Signage Solution he can administrate himself.

The client part runs Chromium or Firefox on top of Fluxbox to display a webpage in full screen. The server part is Wordpress with some plugins, mainly Foyer and Theatre to provide slides, channels and displays which can be viewed by the client(s).
Memory consumtion is slightly below 1GB, Browser profile is in Ramdisk (/dev/shm) and it works on the Pi3 or higher). For HD videos in the browser I recommend the Pi4.

It is on Github at https://github.com/boschkundendienst/raspisignage

The project also includes a quick and dirty bash script to create a more speedy archlinux|ARM mirrorlist which might be interesting for some of you. The script is 00-zarmreflector.bash within the repo. Also take a look at https://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=14391#p63830 for a quick howto of the script.

I also want to shout out a big  Thank You to the archlinux|ARM folks and the Archlinux community in general for their great work.

Cheers
