Pi 4 new image

Postby rikman » Thu Jul 09, 2020 9:40 pm

Hi guys! I'm new, even if I use Arch Linux on my Raspberry Pi 4 from about four months. Raspberry Pi 4 is my first Pi ever, and I decided to install Arch Linux Arm 'cause I use the x86_64 version on my laptop and I'm verry happy with this distribution. So, after a big problem of connectivity in Raspbian, I decided to switch to Arch Linux. Today I've seen that, 11 june was release a new image. I'm wondering, only for my personal curiosity, if it's 64 bit. I'm not really interested in that, it's only curiosity. Thank you so much and sorry for eventual grammatical error, I'm italian :D
Good evening guys

The armv7h image is 32-bit kernel/userland whereas aarch64 is 64-bit. I do not believe that RPi4 officially yet supports 64-bit, but you can use moonman's (an Arch ARM developer) image and builds for that if you want. See this thread.

Currently, you will need to manually update the kernel and firmware with his unofficial packages if you want to maintain it.
