[Solved] Support for aarm64

Postby randunum33 » Tue Sep 15, 2020 11:07 am

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and I didn't know which subforum I needed to go to ask this question.

I'm trying to get archlinux aarm64 to work on my pmos pinephone by following the instuctions in this link: https://xnux.eu/howtos/install-arch-linux-arm.html

However, when I try to boot it, all I get is a blank screen with the green LED light on instead of the usual green to white when it boots up. Is there something that I'm doing wrong or is aarm64 not supported now?

I figured out how to get it installed on the Pinephone via SD card.

1. I followed the installation instructions up to step 4 : https://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv ... stallation
2. Downloaded the latest IMG : https://github.com/dreemurrs-embedded/P ... h/releases
3. Executed

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'sudo dd bs=4M if=archlinux-pinephone-20200913.img of=/dev/sdX conv=fsync status=progress')

where X is the partitionAt first, I was worried about the LED light being red but it boot up after it finished. Oddly enough, on the first boot when I was trying to setup WIFI, there was a kernel panic when I was trying to enter in the credentials (flashing LED and frozen screen). After a hard boot (unfortunately), it worked fine.

I keep getting some odd clicking of what appears to be coming from the top of my phone for a few seconds after booting when the locked screen shows up. Not sure if I should be concerned about that.
