how to set wifi ap broadcast address?

Postby nanao » Fri Jul 19, 2013 4:12 am

hello,
when running archlinux as wifi ap with NAT
using create_ap script from https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/So ... cess_Point ,
how to set the broadcast address of the wlan0 interface? it is always 0.0.0.0.

I would like to change broadcast because service like minidlna is not able to broadcast to client on its soft AP.

Have tried setting minidlna.conf to broadcast with specific interface name but still visible on eth0 only not wlan0 AP clients.
--- minidlna.conf snippet --
# network interfaces to serve, comma delimited
network_interface=wlan0,lo,eth0

--- ifconfig output of wlan0 ---
wlan0: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet 192.168.12.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 0.0.0.0
inet6 fe80::2a1:b0ff:fe50:1eb7 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x20<link>
ether 00:a1:b0:50:1e:b7 txqueuelen 1000 (Ethernet)
RX packets 3 bytes 595 (595.0 B)
RX errors 0 dropped 1 overruns 0 frame 0
TX packets 12 bytes 1591 (1.5 KiB)
TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0

thanks
