I bought a raspberry pi and installed arch on it. It works great, easy install, love it so far but...
I want to use it for NAS, so I plugged in an external drive with a bunch of media on it. The only hitch so far (I haven't actually set up samba yet, but that's O/T) is that the drive spins constantly and gets quite warm. There shouldn't be any activity on the drive, it's mounted, but nothing should be reading or writing to it as it's just music.
Do I need to install some power management tools or something? This same drive works as expected (and without special configuration) when mounted on my Arch desktop, so there is a difference between the desktop and the arm version. A nudge in the right direction would be appreciated!
PS: It's headless but if I _really_ have to, I can plug in a keyboard and monitor.
