Phone/Bluetooth?

Postby Socaltom » Tue Dec 04, 2012 3:20 pm

I don't have a land line, just cell phone. I would like to bring my cell phone in the house and have it connect via Bluetooth so that the handsets in the house ring if I get a call like with magic jack. Is there a way to do this with my plug?

You can connect a phone to the plug using a bluetooth adapter, but I don't know how you would distribute the signal from the plug to the regular phones, unless they are voip phones. I know that with magic jack you can play anything into it as it's detected as a sound device in windows, I don't know if it would be possible to use it like that under linux as I've never tried it.

Another thing is would the plug have enough juce to to coding/decoding of bluetooth stream and coding/decoding to magicjack like device in realtime.

I ended up searching amazon and found that somebody already makes a $30 device that does exact all what I want and can link with two phones. So not worth the trouble of setting up a Linux box to do it.
