Hi,
since a recent upgrade with pacman removed my samba init scripts (I'm using a Pogo v3), I'm a bit careful about init scripts being removed. I took a look in the latest alarm image for OXNAS devices (http://archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM ... est.tar.gz) and it contains a file named nscd located in etc/rc.d/
On my system, I don't have this file. (Btw. I did not remove packages after my first setup, only adding some and perfoming system upgrades.) Also nscd is not in my list of daemons in rc.conf.
However, I see a file nscd.conf located in /etc/
Therefore I'm wondering whether it is normal that the nscd initscript in etc/rc.d/ is missing on my system or whether it is actually neccessary and I lost it during a recent upgrade? Does anyone know?
Thanks,
Timo
