Pulseaudio with ALSA EQ?

Hi,
on my Pi i use pulseaudio for network streaming. When i install the pulseaudio EQ, the pi is on 100% cpu all the time, this doesn't work.

As far as i know, pulseaudio plays its sound on alsa, right? Then i should be able to use the alsaeq for all sound, am i?

If this is possible it would be really nice if someone could post a working asoundrc.

i hope that the cpu usage with alsaeq will not be as high as with pulseaudio equalizer.
