Hi, I have been a long time user of the dlink DNS323 a very capable little piece of hardware that I was able to run a variety of things on (and do RAID 1/0). While I am still using it it is only a 2 bay device and its a bit dated so some things I try running on it now (owncloud lately) have been a bit rough.
I've been interested in Archlinux for awhile and am also in the market for a "hackable" (I use the word very liberally as i do not count myself as a hacker, more of a tinker-er wannabe) NAS box that I could install something like Archlinux which would allow me to do a bit more than just use it as a NAS.
I have looked around a bit and wasn't able to really find any (doesn't mean nothing is out there of course) projects with arch ported over to a piece of 4+bay NAS hardware. I have of course considered just buying up the separate parts and putting something together myself but many of the outofthebox solutions are quite "tight" and efficient but I haven't ruled out the possibility yet, just wanted to explore all my options first. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
