Slow write speeds

Postby ChrisULM » Mon Jan 06, 2014 1:49 am

After doing a full system upgrade (not sure if this is related), I've experienced extremely slow speeds when moving a file from one location to another on the same hard drive. If I use Samba to transfer a file to or from the same hard drive, the transfer speed is normal. Any idea on what is going on here?

The hard drive is formatted as ext3 and is connected via USB.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
hdparm -tT /dev/sdb
Timing cached reads: 396 MB in 2.00 seconds = 197.95 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 88 MB in 3.06 seconds = 28.73 MB/sec
')
