Confused by sheevaplug installation

Postby Cerales » Tue Feb 22, 2011 11:17 am

Hello! I'm interested in setting up Arch Linux ARM install Linux but I can't quite grok the instructions.

1. The README for sheevaplug-installer says that I have to edit installer/uboot-custom.txt, but there is no such file. I understand that this is very important, as it specifies the MAC address of the Plug?
2. The Arch Linux ARM install getting started page says that I have to open a "standard (non-serial)" terminal. Does this just mean a local terminal, or does it mean an SSH session to the Plug? How will it know how to find the device? Am I supposed to connect it to my system via USB, and then the aforementioned uboot-custom file will specify the device's MAC address?

Thanks!
