Root SSH login access denied, password correct!

Postby bigphillystyle » Tue Aug 25, 2015 11:58 pm

First off, I'd like to say hello to the ALARM community, and thank you for all the help you've provided to me as I lurked in the shadows haha

I've got ALARM installed on a V2(Pink) pogoplug, and a week or two ago, i inexplicably lost ssh access to my root account. I'm unsure what the problem is, I am absolutely positive that i'm using the correct password because if i log into my "normal" user account and use su I can access root in that way, so I know i've got the password correct. I've used passwd several times to change the password but I'm still getting "access denied" error over SSH.

I'm an arch linux beginner, I'm getting better with the help of all the fine forums here. I've tried googling, and searching the forums but the searches are returning problems that have nothing to do with my specific problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

You will need to re-enable the root account login in the sshd_config.
