Resize terminal full screen

Postby Sharique » Sun Apr 21, 2024 11:17 am

Hi,

I recently installed arch arm on my ipad (through UTM) and I observed the softwares on fullscreen(neovim, less etc.) doesn’t cover the full terminal. I tried looking into the internet for a possible solution but couldn’t find it. Any help is appreciated.

I am new to the arch community and apologies if this a trivial issue.

Thanks in Advance!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you'll need to configure something in UTM.
I don't have an ipad but in the mac version, for the serial terminal they have a setting where you can override the command sent to set the terminal size. (default
stty cols $COLS rows $ROWS
)

I would think something similar needs to be done for the kind of display device you use in the ipad. But I think it's the UTM folks you'd need to ask.

...
There's something in their User Guide, about Dynamic resolution, https://docs.getutm.app/guest-support/dynamic-resolution/ . Did you already try installing guest tools, https://docs.getutm.app/guest-support/linux/#archlinux , ?
