Installing with Archboot iso: repository issues

Postby zoli62 » Fri Jul 05, 2024 11:35 pm

I recently installed Arch Linux ARM on an M3 iMacen UTM virtual machine using the local iso of Archboot, i.e. I performed an offline installation. The installation went well, I only get an error message during package updates: Failed in core.db extra.db etc. download file from mirror.archlinuxarm.org: URL rejected: Port number was not a decimal number between 0 and 65535 warning: too many error from mirror .archlinuxarm.org, skipping for the remainder of this transaction
What is the reason of this?

When installing online, when I specify the custom mirror, I get that the selected mirror does not work properly, even though I enter it correctly.

In the mirror list, there was a problem with mirror.archlinuxarm.org itself. I commented out and enabled a near mirror and another mirror and the error went away. Thanks for the reply.

The problem might be related to the specific mirror you're trying to use. You can update your mirror list to use a different set of mirrors.

I did not change the default mirror list created during the installation.

I've spent a long time trying to figure out what was the problem and didn't realize it was a repository issue.

I finally commented out the first URL at the top and uncommented the US ones, so now it's working.
