Also happened to me this very night. No shutdown in logs, just hang up and had to reboot it. I reinstalled the latest ALARM yesterday to cleanly switch to systemd after two years of usage, something like this never happened.

I noticed that ALARM installer doesn't create a swap partition like the old one did, could this be an issue? I use the Pogo V2 as a seedbox and, maybe, the load was too much and with nowhere to swap on it just crashed. No daemon was replying, pings would timeout etc.

mon, you have a completely different issue, please create a sepate thread. Yours actually hangs. OP's doesn't - it shuts down for unknown reasons.

bro I am having the same issue the system gets hanged and I have to restart manually.
Even tried formatting my drive again and extracting the tarball. But again it gets hanged.

Yours actually shuts down.

And why the hell would we make a swap partition when we expressly say not to use it on flash devices despite thousands not listening to us?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('WarheadsSE', 'Y')ours actually shuts down.

Because it is needed in my case. rTorrent was eating up all the free memory and made the v2 hang. Created a 256MB swap, didn't happen again. I know it's not optimal to swap on a flash drive, but it's needed given some circumstances.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('moonman', 'I') would start turning off services one by one until problem is resolved. The last one you turn off before it stops is the one the causes it. Then investigate why, turn on verbose/debuggin messages or run in in foreground to see what's up.

ohk tried stopping every daemon one by one which exist in my rc.conf
still problem persists
this means daemons are not responsible for shut down. :?

@Mon
That doesn't mean we should be making it as part of installation.

I noticed 1 more thing that when my plug gets crashed my hard disk spins constantly for hours. Then gets stable..it spins for like 1-2 hours and I think in full rpm as the casing becomes very hot.

nick2012 I don't know what else to suggest. Try to reinstall everything from scratch.
