add arm to pkgbuild?

Postby GreenBackbone » Wed Mar 23, 2016 10:00 pm

im running arch arm and hitting many packages from the aur with not available for arm.
my question is:
is it safe to edit pkgbuild and add arm to architecture?
or should i just pass the -A option to makepkg?
I understand that if i install package with -A option it might or might not work, ill just have to -Rns if it doesnt work.. correct?
thank you before hand..

Depends on the package. If the source is binary compiled for x86 it obviously won't work. If the source code is available, there is good chance it will compile for arm. It doesn't matter whether you add arm to arch array or use -A
