Hello,
I bought a new USB Wifi Card but Arch Linux don't seem to be able to detect it.
I figured it was a driver issue so I went ahead and tracked down the version required :
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'lsusb -vv
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 148f:761a Ralink Technology, Corp.
Device Descriptor:
idVendor 0x148f Ralink Technology, Corp.
iManufacturer 1 MediaTek
iProduct 2 WiFi
iSerial 3 1.0
')
I ended up identifying as MediaTek MT7610U chipset.
I found an AUR package here : https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mt7601u-dkms/
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'makepkg -s') resulted in : mt7601u-dkms-3.1-1-any.pkg.tar.xz
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -U mt7601u-dkms-3.1-1-any.pkg.tar.xz ') resulted in : mt7601u-dkms: /usr/lib/firmware/mt7601u.bin exists in filesystem
Here is the IP link output :
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[root@alarmpi ~]# ip link
1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1
link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00

')
I m already using a lost cost wifi dongle which I-d like to change so the output shows man wlan0 (the old wifi dongle) but doesn't show my new card
Wifi-menu only shows the old wifi dongle aswell
I m currently stuck & lost.
I tried going through the forum without any luck regarding this specific problem.
Any help is welcome at this point
Thank you
