I have solved this problem by downgrading my systemd to version 230
I found /var/cache/pacman/pkg/systemd-230-5-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz the cache in /var/cache/pacman/pkg/
Installing that version made the system work again.

The Banana Pi can run on mainline kernel, which would avoid this problem. However, I am using my BananaPi as media player and I haven't gotten kodi running on the mainline kernel, so I am using the 3.4.103 kernel from lemaker.

I had the same problem on my BananaPI.

Thank you andre. Downgrading systemd fixed it.

It seems that systemd fixed it in version 231-6
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=832713#331
but arch is currently distributing 231-3.
So the only way to quickly fix it now, is manually downgrade to an older version (230 or less) that you can find in /var/cache/pacman/pkg, and remember to do it at every system update :(
