echo $PATH produces duplicates ...

running Arch Linux Arm on Raspberry Pi 3 kernel: Linux 4.9.70-1-ARCH

here is what I get running in terminator
$ echo $PATH:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/bin/site_perl:/usr/bin/vendor_perl:/usr/bin/core_perl:/usr/bin/site_perl:/usr/bin/vendor_perl:/usr/bin/core_perl:/home/m147/.fzf/bin
')

notice the _perl entries are doubled up

however, running the same command in any other terminal give this output:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/bin/site_perl:/usr/bin/vendor_perl:/usr/bin/core_perl:/home/m147/.fzf/bin
')

notice there is only one instance of each _pearl

what gives? What am I not understanding?

Have you set your PATH manually somewhere?
