How to install packages from AUR? "not available for ARM..."

Postby motoko » Mon Feb 05, 2018 6:17 am

How do you install packages from AUR? I tried pacaur but every time I try to install something, it complains about "not available for the 'armv7h' architecture" and issues an error.
I've tried adding 'armv7h' to "arch=..." in PKGBUILD but that didn't help.

I'm trying to install this: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/swapspace

Any help is much appreciated! Thank you in advance.

An arches line should have worked, $this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'a')rch=('i686' 'x86_64' 'armv7h')

You would have ended up with this message next:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')gcc --std=gnu99 -march=armv7-a -mfloat-abi=hard -mfpu=vfpv3-d16 -O2 -pipe -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -Wl,-O1,--sort-common,--as-needed,-z,relro -o hog hog.o
/usr/bin/ld: hog.o: relocation R_ARM_MOVW_ABS_NC against `a local symbol' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
hog.o: error adding symbols: Bad value
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
