POGO-E02 Bricked or something else

Postby Aarshad » Wed Jun 22, 2011 1:25 pm

I hid this question in another topic, didnt get a response, since its a new problem let me try it this way.

I got a E02 Pink Pogoplug, I tried de-installing the Arch Linux ARM thing by following this

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'mount -o rw,remount /
mv /etc/init.d/rcS.original /etc/init.d/rcS
rm /etc/profile
rm /etc/mount_opt
rm /opt
mount -o r,remount /
rm -r /tmp/.cemnt/mnt_sda1/.opt
/sbin/reboot')
http://tekplug.blogspot.com/2011/01/ins ... drive.html

After the reboot the plug has a blinking green led continously, even when i take out the USB stick. I dont know if the plug is bricked or not.

Have you done a reboot without the USB stick?
Can you ssh in?
used to be owned by me
Pink Pogo V2, Black Pogo V3, Zyxel NAS 325 v1,
used to be Adminstrator for
Goflex net, Black V3, Black V2
Now I have a couple of raspberry pi ( 3+ and 4)

Arch Linux ARM never used the opt... that was optware.

Again, we don't do optware, you should find support in the forum that does. This distribution is a full linux install, and doesn't run off of the stock nand rootfs.
Arch Linux ARM exists and continues to grow through community support, please donate today!

That link's directions are beyond ANCIENT, and for "ARCH LEENUCKS ARM!1ONE" NOT Full blown Arch Linux ARM linux.

Our current wiki contains the proper directions, which weren't followed. Get a serial cable, and hope.

As over the chat through IRC channels, the plug wont boot to the stock pogoplug, we thought that the rcS might be corrupted or deleted, but since the bootloader was on the plug and working, after putting an root fs on an USB I managed to install the Arch Linux ARM and mounted the orginal POGO device with $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'mount -t jffs2 /dev/mtblock2 /dev/pogo').

so i went and had a look and it looks fine, I dont get it now, is their a reason that when i pull the USB out that the pogoplug wont boot to its stock rootfs but the LED keeps blinking ?.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '#! /bin/sh

mount -t proc none /proc
mount -t sysfs none /sys
mount -t devpts none /dev/pts
mount -t tmpfs none /tmp
mount -t usbfs none /proc/bus/usb
mkdir /tmp/var

echo "/tmp/core_%e_%t" > /proc/sys/kernel/core_pattern

hostname Pogoplug

ifconfig lo 127.0.0.1
ifconfig eth0 169.254.37.133
udhcpc -b `hostname`

#telnetd
/etc/init.d/db

#Uncomment the line below to enable the pogoplug service
#/etc/init.d/hbmgr.sh start

#/bin/mount -a')
