hdmi plug after boot raspi 3 b how to resize screen

Postby Marian43 » Thu Aug 02, 2018 8:27 am

Hello everyone
if i plug hdmi screen (hp pavillion 23xi) after boot/raspberry pi 3, screen resolution is very small, arandr doesnt allow to change it, so 600/400 instead of maximum 1920x1080. Is it possible to change resolution, without reboot?
Thanks.

I should give some info like
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '$ xrandr --current')
So can see what xrandr had detected.
Perhaps your display should have an option to fit the input to the screen size ;)

The Pi detects screen size on boot, and configures the framebuffer accordingly.

This can be modified in /boot/config.txt (the image I used had this set to 1920x1080 but normally this should automatically select a resolution.

It is not possible to modify this after boot.
