crosstool-ng to compile i686

I'm hoping an off-topic post will be tolerated. I found the wonderful distcc guide for setup of crosstool-ng to compile ARM. I'm very interested in compiling i686 on x86_64 (standard Arch Linux) and am hoping to solicit some expertise from this community to do it. Can someone point me to a corresponding config for crosstool-ng or an Arch-centric guide?
