Hey guys, Ive been looking online everywhere searching how to put linux on android devices, specifically for the purpose of the orange pi 3g-iot they only have an image for this computer for android 4.4. It looks like its using mediatek MT6572 module, and it is apparently ARM® Cortex® -A7 processor. https://www.mediatek.com/products/smartphones/mt6572
would it be possible to use archlinux arm on this orange pi 3g-iot, it is arm, why wouldnt it work? and why are people online saying its very hard to make it work?

By my experience better to avoid far east products. It seems the manufacturers lack of information and several problems to run a steady mainlined kernel.
Se this as guideline. When you'll get an aye on a particular product, then I advice to look around to see what the people says about that.
You may look at this.
