goflex home install issues

Postby user99 » Wed Jul 06, 2011 6:06 pm

I'm following the install steps for the Goflex Home and ran into a problem in step 10.
When I run
./mke2fs -j /dev/sda1
I get the following error
/dev/sda1 is mounted; will not make a filesystem here!

Are the instructions the same for the GoFlex Home and Net? There are references to GoFlex Net in the GoFlex Home install process.

Just type in umount /dev/sda1 first

He actually came in IRC, and it was far more complex than that.

I wasn't the person in IRC. It looks like the filesystem is created automatically. I tried using fuser to see what was keeping it in use. After killing all the processes /mnt/eSata was in use and the fuser list was empty.
