Choose the generic title since I likely have more questions later.

But I'm failing with the first step, to enable bluetooth. After starting the service I get "Failed to read advertising features: Unknown Command (0x01)". Everything is up to date.

sudo systemctl status bluetooth
* bluetooth.service - Bluetooth service
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/bluetooth.service; disabled; vendor preset: disabled)
Active: active (running) since Fri 2019-02-22 13:12:05 CET; 4min 27s ago
Docs: man:bluetoothd(8)
Main PID: 482 (bluetoothd)
Status: "Running"
Memory: 428.0K
CGroup: /system.slice/bluetooth.service
`-482 /usr/lib/bluetooth/bluetoothd
