raspberry pi 4 latest xorg not working

Hi,
I just installed the latest updates on my raspberry pi 4. Unfortunately on the next reboot, xorg would crash with segfault.
As I had a spare sd-card, I used the latest image as per installation instructions.
After installing xorg, the error message was the same:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '. Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault). Server aborting ')

This is unlikely to be due to a faulty device, as I get the same error when using it in a second device that is running libreelec without any issues.

Did I miss an announcement?
I'd appreciate any suggestions on where to go from here.

I believe that I have the same issue - though I don't recall seeing that Xorg crashed - I'm back in Raspian

I successfully login with the TTY environment - but thought it would be the X environment, and I'm not sure how to fix that.
I followed the current raspberry pi 4 install guide.

Am I correct that this should be a graphic environment, not just a console?
