[RESOLVED] default account after install?

Postby garyj » Sat Aug 20, 2011 2:04 am

I followed these instructions to install Arch over Seagate's hipserv on a Goflex Home, and it worked beautifully: http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5 ... oflex-home . The box shows up on the network, and I can get a ssh prompt.

Only problem I have now: how do I login remotely to finish the install? Is there a default root password (google seems to think not)? Instructions didn't have me set up any other accounts, and the user account I had setup previously in order to install Arch is obviously no longer working. I know how to reset a password on a box with a keyboard and monitor, but those methods won't work here. What is my next step?

It's also on just about every page.

"Log back in after your Pogoplug reboots using username root and password root."

And "http://archlinuxarm.org/support/guides/system/first-steps"
