No, distcc can be a curious beast. I get excellent results on linux-rpi/aarch64. Have not tried with linux-aarch64. To build the kodi-rpi package for example with 30 threads and with a Ryzen 9 5950X volunteer takes ~13 min.

I also tried setting the work directory on a network drive which was actually the RAM of another machine on the network, and didn't have good results. It would work but not as fast.
I think the best result would be with a 4/8GB RAM Pi4 and set working dir in tmpfs but I only have the 2GB model.
