File error installing on Asus Chromebook C101PA [SOLVED}

Hi,
I've encountered a file error installing Arch Linux ARM on an Asus C101PA. Following the instructions for the device under platforms I've got to the point of extracting the tar file ArchLinuxArm-gru-latest.tar.gz. I get the following messages:-

gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

Is this something that can be fixed or should I try a different download? If so which one?
Help would be appreciated

I did resolve this by using tar options xzf not xf as in the instructions
