Installation on Orange Pi 3 LTS

Postby tuchin » Thu May 30, 2024 6:03 pm

Hello!
I have an Orange Pi 3 LTS. When installing, I used the instructions https://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv8/allwinner/pine64 I prepared microSD on my PC with Manjaro, inserted the microSD into the device, connected the Ethernet and turned on the power. The indicator on the device turned green. In the instructions, I did not understand how to connect to the device using the serial console. There is no serial port on the device. It is also unclear how to further configure the device: enable HDMI support, connect the graphics shell, etc. I have only experience installing only on a PC. Maybe one of the Arch linux specialists put it on this or a similar device?
Please help me.

Some packages are defintely unstable (especially it's clear with GUI usage where you'll have crash dumps more likely), so that you have to have skills to rebuild at least some of them (because of lack of confiable repos and afaik ARM is not officialy supported by Archlinux), plus enough knowledge about specifics of your SBC's graphics. Except of that and enough time to deal with it, all other things are more or less std.

Do you have knowledge of the specific specifications of your SBC graphics?

HW should be fully suported (SD, eMMC, Eth, HDMI, Audio, GPU, IRremote, HW video decode, suspend-to-ram)
